Skybound Establishes Vancouver Hub

LOS ANGELES: Skybound Entertainment, led by Robert Kirkman and David Alpert, along with business partner Jon Goldman, is expanding its business with the launch of an office in Vancouver.

The Los Angeles-based multimedia entertainment company is opening a Skybound North office in Vancouver, BC. Skybound North will be led by former LucasFilm Animation executive Catherine Winder.

The Skybound North office will function as a full-service production entity to help develop, nurture and produce content with top Canadian production and writing talent. The AMC comic-docuseries Heroes and Villains: The History of Comics will be one of the first projects produced through Skybound North.

“The pedigree and experience Catherine brings to our team is invaluable. Her foresight and creative intuition is reflected in the quality of her work, and will help expand our voice as storytellers,” said Skybound’s chairman, Robert Kirkman, and CEO David Alpert in a joint statement. “There is a vast pool of top-notch Canadian talent and nobody knows the landscape better than Catherine. We look forward to what’s ahead with Catherine at the helm of Skybound North.”
