More MasterChef Canada for CTV

TORONTO: CTV has given a third-season order for the hit culinary competition MasterChef Canada for the 2015-16 broadcast season.

Season two of MasterChef Canada remains the number one Canadian series among the key 18 to 49 and 25 to 54 demographics for the broadcast year to date. Production is slated to begin on the new season in the fall in Toronto, with 15 episodes coming from Proper Television. Canadian judges Michael Bonacini (of the O&B restaurant empire), Alvin Leung (Bo Innovation in Hong Kong) and Claudio Aprile (Origin Restaurants) are set to return for season three.

"Canadian audiences have maintained a strong appetite for MasterChef Canada since it first debuted in 2014," said Phil King, the president of CTV, sports and entertainment programming. "We look forward to working with our talented partners at Proper Television on the third season of our homegrown version of the internationally recognized MasterChef format to help a new batch of home cooks follow their food dreams."
