Incendo Preps Two New Rom-Coms

Incendo has commenced principal photography on two new romantic-comedy movies: Destination Love and Sweet as Maple Syrup.

Incendo and Screentime New Zealand have begun production on Destination Love, featuring New Zealand actors Anna Hutchison (Robert the Bruce, Encounter, A Love Yarn) and Josh McKenzie (The Hopes & Dreams of Gazza Snell, Filthy Rich, Transplants). Written by John Banas and directed by Aidee Walker, the film is being shot on location in New Zealand.

In Destination Love, Madison has the chance to pursue her love of event management when her two best friends announce their engagement. Finding a pre-planned wedding package on a remote island vineyard in New Zealand, she teams up with David, the handsome vineyard owner, to reimagine the event for her friends, and the pair soon discovers a potential pairing of their own.

Production has started in Montreal on Sweet as Maple Syrup, starring Canadian actors Brooke Nevin (The Comebacks, Breakout Kings, Call Me Fitz) and Carlo Marks (Smallville, Pretty Little Liars, The Flash). Written by Julie Kim and Kariné Marwood, the movie is directed by Caroline Labrèche.

Sweet as Maple Syrup centers on Rachelle, who is in a race against time when her family’s maple orchard starts to decline ahead of the upcoming Maple Syrup Festival. With the help of Derek, a professor of arboriculture, they combine her hands-on experience and his scientific knowledge to heal the orchard, with feelings growing between them along the way.

Both Destination Love and Sweet as Maple Syrup are produced in association with Citytv, a Rogers Sports & Media channel, to air as part of Citytv’s Fall in Love Fridays lineup.
