CBC Sports & Mediapro Canada Align for CPL Coverage

CBC Sports and Mediapro Canada have partnered to provide live coverage of 20 games throughout the 2019 season of the Canadian Premier League (CPL), Canada’s new tier-one men’s professional soccer league, on CBC Sports platforms.

Per the deal, CBC will be the exclusive television broadcast home for ten CPL games during the league’s inaugural season. Ten additional games will be available via free live streaming coverage at cbcsports.ca, the CBC Gem streaming service and via the CBC Sports app for iOS and Android devices. Mediapro will produce all of the games to be broadcast.

CBC Sports’ Scott Russell and Andi Petrillo will host CBC’s coverage of the games, which will feature commentary from Gareth Wheeler and former Canadian international Terry Dunfield. Further, CBC Sports will offer CPL videos, player profiles and highlight shows across its platforms.

The CPL’s spring season will run from April 27 to July 1. The fall season will commence July 6 and run until October 19.
