Canada’s Super Channel Funds Docs, Films & Returning Series

EDMONTON: Canadian English-language pay-TV network Super Channel is set to fund 15 new projects ranging from feature films to documentaries and series through its Super Channel Development Fund.

The lineup of selected projects includes 11 feature films, among them Raven Banner Entertainment’s Jacqueline Ess, starring Game of Thrones’ Lena Heady; Goalie, from Foundry Films; and Screen Siren Pictures’ Indian Horse and The Keeper.

On the factual front, the network will fund the documentary features Manic and Healer Heal from Bob Moore at EyeSteelFilm. Super Channel is also supporting the fourth season of the Canadian Screen Award-nominated comedy series Tiny Plastic Men, produced by Mosaic Entertainment.

“Once again, we received an exceptional field of submissions from across Canada," said Melissa Kajpust, the head of creative development for Super Channel. “These projects represent a wide cross section of genres, representing some of the best filmmakers in the country and we are very excited to support them.”

The next deadline for the Super Channel Development Fund is October 9.
