VIMN Appoints SVP & GM for Greater China

BEIJING/SINGAPORE: Pierre Cheung has been named senior VP and general manager of Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) for Greater China, effective September 24.

In his new role, Cheung will work out of Beijing under Mark Whitehead, VIMN Asia's executive VP and managing director. He will be responsible for the management and operations of the Greater China office across VIMN's brands and businesses, including MTV, Nickelodeon, digital media, program sales and consumer products. He will also develop VIMN's long-term strategic plan in China and collaborate with Whitehead to find new opportunities and revenue streams for the company in the region.

Cheung previously spent 14 years at BBC Worldwide, where he most recently served as VP and general manager for Greater China. Earlier in his career, he worked for other leading media businesses in Asia, including Television Broadcast Limited (TVB), Chinadotcom Corporation and 24/7 Media Asia.

Whitehead remarked: "Pierre is a highly skilled leader who will be able to manage both the creative and business aspects of a company such as ours.
