Matchbox Pictures Names New Creative Producer

LONDON: Matchbox Pictures, an NBCUniversal International Studios production label, has named Australian producer, writer and executive Amanda Higgs as its new creative producer.

Higgs, who was script editor of Matchbox Pictures/ABC TV’s drama The Slap, joins the company from the independent sector. She co-created and produced Network 10’s The Secret Life of Us, and is currently producing Matchbox’s new drama series Barracuda, which is due out down under in 2016.

Michael Edelstein, the president of NBCUniversal International Studios, said: “Amanda is a passionate storyteller and talented producer. We are delighted that she is joining Matchbox and the NBCU International Studios scripted team. Matchbox is very highly regarded amongst the Australian production community, and with the addition of Amanda, we are continuing to attract and support the best creative minds working in Australian television.”
