Ricky Ow Stays on as Asian Academy Creative Awards Chairman

The Asian Academy Creative Awards (AAA) have confirmed that Turner Asia Pacific President Ricky Ow has accepted the invitation to extend his term as Chairman of Awards for 2019.

Michael McKay, AAA president, said: “Ricky’s term as 2018 Chairman of Awards was relatively short due to the tight lead-time and we knew the awards would benefit from having him on board for a full term in 2019. It comes on the back of NBCU’s Christine Fellowes accepting the Chair of the Academy Campus for another year, so we can certainly build on the experience both executives bring to the table.”

Fellowes, managing director of NBCUniversal Television Networks Asia Pacific, is serving as the Chairwoman of the Academy Campus for the second consecutive year. The AAA’s Academy Campus has partnered with Nanyang Polytechnic’s (NYP) School of Business Management (SBM) to hold six to seven masterclasses covering aspects of the media business for the Polytechnic’s students.

Esther Ho, director of the School of Business Management at Nanyang Polytechnic, said: “The 2018 Masterclass series was a huge success with many of our students picking up additional skills such as writing high-impact stories for digital media platforms. We are thrilled to be hosting the Academy Campus this year as this partnership will further enable us to build a talent pipeline for the media industry.”

Fiona McKay, chief executive of The Asian Academy Creative Awards, added: “Having Christine come on board again provides the Academy Campus with strong continuity and supports our ability to deliver our skills development programs.”
