Primeworks Closes iTunes Deal on Malaysia’s J Revolusi

The Malaysian box-office hit J Revolusi is headed to a slew of new markets, thanks to a deal signed by Primeworks Distribution.

The crime action movie, which brought in MYR7.1 million ($1.7 million) during its theatrical run, will be made available in Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, the Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Australia, New Zealand, the U.K., Ireland and Canada. Primeworks inked the deal with Apple iTunes aggregator A Little Seed.

Ahmad Izham Omar, CEO of Primeworks Studios, said: “Having our content on a platform like iTunes opens up Malaysian-made content to a whole new set of viewers around the world. We are hoping that J Revolusi will be appreciated by a global audience. We are proud to contribute to bringing Malaysian content to international platforms like iTunes.”

Chai Yee-wei, founder of A Little Seed, added: “We are hoping to diversify our Asian library with content from all parts of the region and Malaysia is no exception. A Little Seed is happy to include J Revolusi to our library of Asian content that we are constantly building.”
