SINGAPORE/LONDON: Justin Che has been appointed to the newly created role of managing director of international television for the Asia Pacific at NBCUniversal International Television.
Che will lead the company’s TV business across the Asia Pacific, overseeing both content distribution and channels for the region. He is based at the company’s Singapore office. Che’s appointment is effective immediately, reporting to Belinda Menendez, the president of NBCUniversal International Television Distribution and Universal Networks International. Che moves into this position from his previous role as senior VP and sales liaison for Asia Pacific at NBCUniversal International Television Distribution.
Christine Fellowes, the managing director for Asia Pacific at Universal Networks International, will continue in her key leadership position. Rajiv Dhawn is promoted from VP of sales liaison to senior VP and sales liaison for Asia at NBCUniversal International Television. Dhawn will continue to be responsible for the free TV, pay-TV, transactional VOD/EST, SVOD and AVOD content licensing activities across the Asia-Pacific region.
“Justin’s appointment to jointly lead both our distribution and channels businesses aligns with NBCUniversal’s overall strategy to integrate our portfolio of television assets in a more holistic way in key growth markets,” commented Menendez. “Asia Pacific is an increasingly important focus area for our international television business and Justin, Christine and Rajiv’s collaborative expertise will drive growth for our business in the region.”
“Asia Pacific is a dynamic, fast-paced region with extensive and exciting opportunities for growth across the television and new media sectors,” added Che. “My enthusiasm to embark upon this new position is grounded firmly in the knowledge that I am supported by both Christine’s robust pan-regional channels’ expertise and Rajiv’s extensive sales and distribution experience. With their leadership and support, I look forward to optimizing NBCUniversal International Television’s business across APAC.”
