NATPE Spotlight: Star India

Star India’s Strange Love (Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon), The Wait for Love (Love Ka Hai Intezaar) and There Was a Beautiful Woman (Ek Hasina Thi) have already generated interest with broadcasters in LatAm.

Strange Love follows a pair whose mutual hatred evolves into love, while The Wait for Love centers on the romance between an actress and a prince.

In There Was a Beautiful Woman, the question of whether a woman can change her identity and alter her destiny is explored.

“We have always strived toward making shows that are backed by great production values, captivating storytelling, characters that people love and concepts that inspire a million imaginations,” says Gurjeev Kapoor, president of distribution for India and international business at Star India.

Saras and Kumud (Saraswatichandra) is also a highlight.

“Great storytelling cuts across geographies and this has been key for the success of Indian content internationally,” says Kapoor.
