NHK World-Japan Joins Roku

NHK World-Japan, Japan’s global 24-hour English-language channel, is now available on the Roku TV streaming platform in the U.S.

Through the deal, Roku subscribers will now have access to NHK World-Japan’s range of international news and Asian lifestyle programming from NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation). Among the titles that can now be viewed on the platform are NHK Newsline, Grand Sumo Highlights, Dining with the Chef, Cycle Around Japan and Anime Supernova.

“American viewers are already connecting to NHK World-Japan through streaming services such as Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV and Chromecast,” said Masaru Shiromoto, president and CEO of Japan International Broadcasting. “And now, by bringing our original and diverse programming to Roku, we have the opportunity to reach even more viewers, making our wide variety of programs more accessible to new audiences.”
