FremantleMedia Australia Appoints GM for Spring

SYDNEY: FremantleMedia Australia has hired Zara Curtis, who’s been serving as the commercial director at NewsLifeMedia, as the general manager of its content-creation division Spring.

Curtis takes up the post in mid-July. Prior to NewsLifeMedia, Curtis was at ACP for more than 10 years, holding a number of senior sales positions. Curtis has been tapped to move Spring into its next stage of development, building on the commercial relationships that it already has in place with its customer base while also exploring new avenues for further growth in the digital space.

Spring was launched in September 2011. The outfit works with brands, agencies and broadcasters from across Australasia to produce innovative and affordable content solutions, including advertiser-funded projects and multiplatform iterations.

Ian Hogg, the regional CEO for Australia and the Asia Pacific at FremantleMedia, said: “Zara’s track record in the media industry, and especially in the magazine sector, is second to none. Her depth of experience in building and managing relationships with agencies and clients will be invaluable for Spring’s development, as will her flair as a future-thinker.”

“With access to some of the best TV production and digital talent in the country, Spring is uniquely positioned for success,” Curtis commented. “I’m really excited about driving the multiple business models Spring can offer and working with Australia’s foremost TV producers, media agencies and media companies.”
