Comedy Central Stand-Up, Asia! has been greenlit for a third season by Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN), with production set to begin this summer.

The VIMN Asia series serves as a showcase for comedians from across the region. Filming on the 10×30-minute third season will take place in front of a live audience in Malaysia this July. The second season performed 128 percent above the channel average ratings among 18- to 34-year-olds and outperformed the first season by 63 percent.

“The show has been a channel ratings success and is a fan-favorite on digital and linear platforms since its premiere in 2016,” said Paras Sharma, senior VP and general manager for Southeast Asia at VIMN. “This highlights how Asia originals have strong appeal with our audiences and underscores how investing in local content to grow share of viewership has been a right move. We remain committed to promoting Asian comedy by elevating comedians on a regional platform, and growing the appreciation of localized comedy for fans around the region to enjoy.”

Comedy Central Asia reaches 18 markets via 65 providers in the region.
