Disney+ Hotstar to Arrive in Indonesia September 5

Marking its first Southeast Asian launch, Disney+ Hotstar is set to land in Indonesia on September 5, with a partnership already in place with leading telco Telkomsel and a lineup of locally sourced movies.

The platform will deliver the Disney+ slate of global content (encompassing films and series from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic and originals like The Mandalorian) plus more than 300 Indonesian movies. Seven highly anticipated Indonesian films will release directly on Disney+ Hotstar. Disney+ Hotstar has licensed the film titles from PT Falcon, PT Frontera Inter Media, PT. Kharisma Starvision Plus, PT MD Pictures Tbk, PT Rapi Film, PT Screenplay Bumilangit Produksi and PT Tiga Belas Entertainment. The platform will also tap into content from Disney’s assets in India. At launch, the service will have a selection of key movies and series including 23 Hindi movies from the UTV library, drama series such as Yehh Jadu Hai Jinn Ka!, mythology shows like Ramayan and the celebrity talk show Koffee with Karan. All Indian content will either be subtitled or dubbed in Bahasa Indonesia. Pricing has not yet been announced.
