Discovery Pacts with TaiwanPlus

Streaming platform TaiwanPlus is working with Warner Bros. Discovery on an initiative to develop content from local filmmakers about Taiwan.

The companies are hosting a competition that kicked off today, with three filmmakers to be chosen to receive a grant of $35,000 each to go toward the production of short films about Taiwan. The winning filmmakers will be able to collaborate with a Discovery channel producer. The films will be shown on Discovery’s platforms in Asia and will stream on TaiwanPlus.

TaiwanPlus is positioned as an independent supplier of news on global and local events and a home for content focused on Taiwanese lifestyle and culture.

Pitches can be submitted in the form of a 600- to 1,000-word proposal by May 15, 2022.
