Amazon Brings Fire TV & Fire TV Stick to Japan

LONDON: Following on its delivery of Prime Video in Japan, Amazon is now making its Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick available in the country.

Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick provide easy and fast access for Japanese customers to stream movies, TV shows, live TV, sports and more. Japanese customers can use Fire TV to watch movies and TV shows from Hulu, Prime Video, GYAO!, Netflix, Amazon Video, YouTube and other services.

Through the launch of Prime Video, Prime members in Japan now have unlimited 24/7 streaming of thousands of U.S. and Japanese movies, TV shows, anime, music concerts and more, at no additional cost. Prime members in Japan can watch Amazon original series in 4K Ultra HD picture quality on the 2015 Fire TV and compatible smart TVs, at no additional charge.

Highlights of the Prime Video selection at launch include day-after-broadcast access to TV Asahi’s variety series Summers Summers; Japanese TV drama series, including Eien no zero, Kodoku no Gourmet, SPEC, JIN and Rookies; and hit movies like Tanteiha Bar Niiru and Shirayukihime Satsujin Jiken. Prime Video is the exclusive Japanese home for the top-rated new series Fear the Walking Dead and Mr. Robot. Prime Video also has all five seasons of The Walking Dead available to watch. Additionally, Amazon is making its original series available for the first time in Japan, including the Golden Globe Award-winning and Emmy-winning dark comedy Transparent, the drama series Hand of God, the police thriller Bosch and the comedy Mozart in the Jungle.
