Nippon TV Preps Joe Hisaishi Concert Special

Nippon TV is set to produce and globally distribute Joe Hisaishi & World Dream Orchestra 2021, a concert special that will be taped on April 27 at the Tokyo Metropolitan Theater in Japan.

“This musical event marks the first time that the Joe Hisaishi & World Dream Orchestra 2021 concert will be available internationally and we are so proud to be offering the worldwide rights to this special,” commented Kenichi Yoda, producer in the global business division at Nippon TV. “Available as ready-made content, we are confident that Joe Hisaishi’s fans around the world will be eagerly awaiting this performance and will love it as much as his fans in Japan.”

As a part of the musical extravaganza, Hisaishi and the orchestra will perform the symphonic suite of Princess Mononoke, as well as other symphonies written by the composer.

Hisaishi is known in the global music industry for his work on such films as Spirited Away, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, Laputa: Castle in the Sky, My Neighbor Totoro and others. He has also composed music for HANA-BI and Departures, among others.
