AMC/Sundance Channel Global Sets Up Asian Base

HONG KONG: AMC/Sundance Channel Global has established a new headquarters in Asia, where it is building up local staff and operations. 

The company’s on-air creative and scheduling services will be managed out of Singaore. The affiliate operations will be led out of Hong Kong. Local staffing efforts are under way. 

The company has also rammed up is programming efforts for Asia. It has acquired the rights to a number of series and indie films for 2013-14. This includes the TV premiere rights in Asia for the new Rolling Stones doc Crossfire Hurricane, as well as Downton Abbey, Monk and The Hour. A slew of indepent films will also be airing on the local Asian Sundance Channel.
