The Mediapro Studio Expands Colombian Presence

The Mediapro Studio has established a new production office in Bogotá, Colombia, for its Cimarrón label, to be led by Julián Duque as head of operations.

The romantic comedy Atrápelo quien pueda, co-produced by The Mediapro Studio, Telemundo and Cinépolis, will be Cimarrón’s first project in Colombia. Cimarrón, with operations in Mexico, Argentina and Uruguay, has been part of The Mediapro Studio since 2023. Its new Bogotá base will also be used to provide production services to international projects, coordinating with The Mediapro Studio’s existing team in Colombia, led by Catalina Porto.

“Cimarrón’s arrival in Colombia as part of The Mediapro Studio marks a strategic milestone that strengthens our positioning in Latin America,” said Javier Esteban, international director of The Mediapro Studio. “It also reflects a rapidly evolving market, and our ongoing mission to anticipate and respond to the needs of clients and partners in an increasingly global industry.”

Santiago López, CEO of Cimarrón, added: “This expansion is a response to growing interest from global studios and platforms to produce in Latin America. Colombia has always been a source of inspiration for our work in the region, and this move is a natural next step. With the backing of The Mediapro Studio, strong local teams, and a well-established regional network, our new office in Colombia will allow us to grow as producers and connect with even more emerging talent. Cimarrón is ready to deliver creative, efficient, and competitive solutions across Latin America, while reaffirming our commitment to excellence and innovation in every project.”
