Pulse Films Elevates Pair of Senior Execs

LONDON: Pulse Films has promoted Claire Wingate to the newly created post of senior VP of production and operations, while Isabel Davis has been upped to head of production for unscripted television and branded content.

Wingate has relocated to Los Angeles and will split her time between that city, New York and London. She will support the international growth opportunities for Pulse and its partnership with Vice, which took a majority stake in the company early last year. She will concentrate on expanding Pulse’s U.S. infrastructure and will have oversight of production and operations across its film, gaming, branded-entertainment and TV output.

While working for Pulse, Wingate has led projects for major U.K. broadcasters, including the BBC docs United States of Hate: Muslims Under Attack, Last Days of Legal Highs and Hunting the Nazi Gold Train. She also served as head of production on such gaming projects as Guitar Hero Live and Need for Speed.

Davis will be based in Pulse’s U.K. office, collaborating with Wingate on all unscripted television, gaming and branded-entertainment content. She previously was a production executive on Guitar Hero Live and was involved in a number of projects across the branded content and unscripted TV divisions. Earlier in her career, Davis worked for The Garden Productions and Jamie Oliver’s Fresh One Productions.

Marisa Clifford, co-CEO of Pulse Films, commented: “These promotions underpin the rapid expansion of Pulse Films, both in the U.S. and U.K. Claire’s huge experience and great talent relations have been central to our success and expanding her remit will ensure we continue to be in safe hands for continued growth. Under her stewardship and with the wonderfully talented Issy in a more senior role, we have a brilliant team in place to steer our current and future productions forward.”

Wingate added: “It’s a tremendously exciting time for Pulse—we are creating a world-class portfolio of content across film, gaming, branded entertainment and television. I am excited to be able to lead the team as we push to grow our footprint even more—there are so many opportunities in the entertainment landscape and my priority is for Pulse to continue to make the very most of them.”
