Love Island Master Class Set for Edinburgh TV Festival

The upcoming edition of the Edinburgh TV Festival will feature an exclusive Love Island master class with some of the stars and creatives behind the reality hit.

The session will examine how the reality reboot became a hit. The panel will provide insights into the production, the keys to keeping the format fresh, and how social media and marketing were used to bring the show into the mainstream. Participants include 2018 winners Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham, breakout stars of 2017 Kem Cetinay and Chris Hughes, and comedian and voiceover Iain Stirling.

The panel will also feature ITV’s head of digital channel and acquisitions, Paul Mortimer; managing director of ITV Studios Angela Jain; and senior digital producer Chris Younie.

Phil Edgar-Jones, advisory chair for the Edinburgh TV Festival, said, “The summer of love continues in Edinburgh as we welcome the stars and makers of Love Island. For those leaving the Majorcan villa—fame, fortune and a new media career are just beginning and we’re looking forward to finding out about their new lives as well as tapping the brains of the producers to unlock the secrets of the show that had everyone from parliamentarians to Paris Hilton talking.”
