L.A. Screenings: New from Walt Disney Global Content Sales & Distribution

Among the new series screening from Walt Disney Global Content Sales & Distribution is the black-ish spin-off mixed-ish, about a young girl growing up in a mixed-race family in the ’80s.

mixed-ish is paired with black-ish on ABC’s fall lineup for Tuesdays.

Cobie Smulders stars in Stumptown, based on the graphic novel series. She plays Dex Parios, a strong, assertive and sharp-witted army veteran with a complicated love life, gambling debt and a brother to take care of in Portland, Oregon. Her military intelligence skills make her a great PI, but her unapologetic style puts her in the firing line of hardcore criminals and not quite in alliance with the police. The show has landed on Wednesdays this fall on ABC.

Rob Lowe leads the new 9-1-1 spin-off 9-1-1: Lone Star, which is launching of FOX midseason. Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk are on board as EPs.

Bradley Whitford and Anna Camp star in the new comedy Perfect Harmony, about finding inspiration in the most unlikely places. The show, in which a former Princeton music professor unexpectedly stumbles into choir practice at a small-town church, is going to be on NBC Thursdays this fall.

John Slattery stars in the fact-based thriller neXT, about the emergence of a deadly, rogue artificial intelligence. The show is part of FOX’s midseason roster, along with Outmatched, a multi-cam family comedy featuring Jason Biggs about a blue-collar couple raising genius children; and The Great North, an animated comedy featuring Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally.

Also in the way of adult animation, Bless the Harts is a new half-hour comedy coming to FOX this fall on its Sunday block with The Simpsons, Bob’s Burgers and Family Guy. Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph are among the voice cast.

The character-driven genre thriller Emergence stars Fargo vet Allison Tolman as a police chief who takes in a young child she finds near the site of a mysterious accident who has no memory of what has happened. The show is set for Tuesdays this fall on ABC.

Kim Cattrall is returning to TV in FOX’s midseason launch Filthy Rich, about a Southern family famed for creating a wildly successful Christian TV network. It’s based on a format from New Zealand.
