L.A. Screenings: New from Warner Bros. International Television Distribution

LOS ANGELES: The new Lethal Weapon series is part of the screenings roster for Warner Bros. International Television Distribution (WBITD).

Based on the feature film of the same name, Lethal Weapon follows as ex-Navy SEAL-turned-detective Martin Riggs moves to California to “start over” at the LAPD. He’s paired up with Roger Murtaugh, who’s just coming back to the job after a near-fatal heart attack. Riggs’ penchant for diving headfirst into the line of fire clashes with Murtaugh’s prudent, by-the-book technique.

Also based on a movie, Training Day is a crime thriller that begins 15 years after the events of the feature film. The series is about a young, idealistic police officer who is tapped to go undercover in an elite squad of the LAPD where he partners with a veteran, morally ambiguous detective.

WBITD will also be screening for buyers Powerless, the first comedy series set in the universe of DC Comics, and Riverdale, based on the characters from Archie Comics. Further highlights include Time After Time, set for ABC midseason, in which famed science-fiction writer H.G. Wells is transported to modern-day Manhattan in pursuit of Jack the Ripper.
