Sister and UCP alum Kate Fenske is launching Hound, an independent production company that will develop and produce across television and film.

Fenske most recently served as chief creative executive at Sister LA, working to establish the U.S. arm of the company. She was formerly senior VP of development at Universal Cable Productions (UCP) for seven years, where she jointly oversaw all scripted. She also has served as president of production for Entertainment 360, head of development at Grady Twins Productions and head of marketing for BBC One and BBC Drama.

With Hound, Fenske is currently producing shows for multiple streaming platforms and studios in the U.S. She is partnering with Campside Media on a podcast adaptation and working with a diverse slate of talented writers and filmmakers, including Alex Cunningham (Dirty John, Fatal Attraction), Karyn Kusama (Yellow Jackets, Destroyer, The Invitation), Matt Manfredi and Phil Hay (The Mysterious Benedict Society, Ride Along, Destroyer), Chris Rogers (Halt & Catch Fire, Paper Girls), Christos Nikou (Apples, Fingernails) and Zack Whedon (Southland, Halt & Catch Fire). Fenske is partnered with Carolyn Strauss on selected projects and on two films with producer Gary Foster.

“I founded Hound because everyone should have one in their corner, whether you’re a creator in need of a loyal champion, or a financier wanting a diligent producer to support the creative team and business imperatives,” said Fenske. “Having worked extensively on both sides of the creative table, as an executive and a producer, I’m excited to dedicate that collective experience to supporting talented writers and filmmakers in bringing their unique voices and ideas to fruition.”
