Jed Mercurio, the screenwriter and showrunner behind Line of Duty and Bodyguard, is set to deliver a keynote at this year’s MIPCOM, where he will be presented with a World Screen Trendsetter Award, in partnership with Reed MIDEM.

With the theme “The Streaming Offensive,” the conference will focus on the changes in global distribution models, their impact on content production and licensing and the global response to the direct-to-consumer challenge.

ProSiebenSat.1 CEO Max Conze will deliver a keynote, discussing the German freemium streaming platform Joyn, a joint venture between ProSiebenSat.1 and Discovery.

In her keynote speech, entitled “How to keep endlessly adapting in order to offer the best possible content on an ever-changing audiovisual landscape?,” Newen CEO Bibiane Godfroid will talk about TF1 Group’s ambitions and greatest challenges.

ITV Studios International President Maria Kyriacou, meanwhile, will weigh in on the ways that content can connect with audiences on a deeper level in her session, “The evolution of television—shaping culture around the world.”

In Mercurio’s keynote, titled “Talent Behind the Camera,” he’ll discuss writers’ and showrunners’ responsibilities as they write and/or executive produce, supervise other writers, manage talent and maintain relationships with studios, channels and platforms. Following his session, Mercurio will be presented with a World Screen Trendsetter Award, in partnership with MIPCOM.

Reed MIDEM previously announced James Farrell, head of international originals for Amazon Studios; Tubi CEO and Founder Farhad Massoudi and CCO Adam Lewinson; and Kay M. Madati, Twitter’s global VP and head of content partnerships, as MIPCOM 2019 keynote speakers.
