FID Scores New CIS, Eastern European Deals

LONDON, August 21: Fremantle International Distribution has
notched up a range of new programming agreements in the CIS and Eastern Europe,
including a 14-title factual package with distributor Intra Communication for
Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Belarus and Moldova.

Intra will offer to networks in those markets titles such as
The Last Aztec, War of the Birds, Sex in the Bush—Australian Animal
Attraction, Sex Inspectors
, Sex
& Shopping
, Extraordinary
People, The Elvis Files, Stolen Children: Argentina’s Disappeared
and Unknown Chaplin.

In addition, Nova TV in Bulgaria and Fox Televizia in Serbia
have picked up the ABC Family/Global TV summer drama Falcon Beach. TV2 in Hungary opted for programs with natural
history expert Nigel Marven, including Prehistoric Park, Nigel Marven’s Animal Detectives and Nigel Marven’s Venom Hunters.

Prehistoric Park also
went to HBO Spektrum for its channels in Hungary, Czech Republic and Slovakia,
along with season two of Jimmy’s Farm. And finally, the two-part Catherine The Great was acquired by STB Ukraine, and the 10-part Love
on the Rocks
was licensed to TVN Style in
Poland.
