CANNES: The newly rebranded Cineflix Rights has lined up a broad portfolio of new and returning shows to exhibit at its bigger booth at MIPCOM.

"The name change emphasizes how we have been stepping up the company’s growth by exploiting our growing range of genres, increasing our deals in new territories and raising the amount of business we do with other producers," says Paul Heaney, the president and managing director, on the rebrand from Cineflix International Distribution.

The last few years have seen tremendous gains for the company, which Heaney attributes to "shows that have been renewed over and over again. Everyone loves a successful returning show. This has been combined with a strategy of growing our relationships with third-party producers, which has resulted in real winners."

Launching Cineflix Rights "with a bang" is a priority for Heaney at MIPCOM, where he is looking to make "our new, bigger booth a must-visit destination." Also on the agenda is increasing the company’s third-party business through acquisitions and expanding sales to emerging territories.

New titles on offer are Casino Confidential, "the first time a top Las Vegas casino has opened its doors," Heaney says; Driving Wars, "a very innovative but simple format;" the Sky Atlantic commission Design Dealers, plus My House Your Money and A Gypsy Life for Me.

“These shows have strong co-viewing potential, i.e. both male and female,” Heaney notes. “And there are strong, visual elements to all of them which will help broadcasters and platforms attract and retain viewers.”
