Christian Brent Lands New Role at FIC

LONDON: FOX International Channels (FIC) has appointed Christian Brent as senior VP of global research and audience strategy, a newly created position.

Brent will manage all audience research for FIC across the company's three key regions of Europe and Africa; Latin America; and the Asia Pacific. He will oversee TV ratings, digital analytics and agency projects, while collaborating with commercial and editorial teams. He will continue to work out of London under Diego Londono, the COO for FIC Europe and Africa.

Brent was first hired by FIC in 2013 as the VP of audience research and strategy for Europe and Africa. Prior to joining the company, he spent seven years at BBC Worldwide, where he led the research and strategy unit for the BBC's international channels business. Before that, he was the head of research for Walt Disney Television, Latin America.

"Christian's extensive experience and vision has already achieved great results in audience research throughout Europe and Africa, but this new role will extend that success to our worldwide markets," stated Hernan Lopez, the CEO of FIC. "His proven record and dedication will raise FIC's audience research capabilities to a new level, at a time when television content is on the verge of an exciting future with the development of new formats and the different ways in which audiences are consuming content."

Brent added: "I am thrilled to have been given this opportunity. With FOX, National Geographic and Star-branded channels in so many countries around the world, it'll be truly fascinating. The way audiences are finding and watching television content is going through a period of real change, so it's an exciting and challenging time to be taking on this new role."
