Basil’s Swap Shop to Return to CBBC

LONDON, January 15: The BBC has commissioned a second season of Basil’s Swap Shop, a live studio-base kids’ show from The Foundation, a part of the RDF Media Group, and represented by Entertainment Rights.

The series, which began its 12-week run on CBBC on January 10, airs Saturday mornings at 10 a.m. A revival of the classic British ’70s series Multi-coloured Swap Shop, Basil’s Swap Shop is hosted by popular BBC character Basil Brush, who is accompanied by BAFTA-award winning Barney Harwood, best known for CBBC’s Prank Patrol. Basil will also be joined each week by celebrity guests, including pop stars, sporting heroes and actors who will visit the Swap Shop to trade their goods with children.

Chloe van den Berg, the executive director of international for Entertainment Rights, commented: "We are delighted that the BBC has commissioned The Foundation to produce a second series of Basil’s Swap Shop. Today’s announcement demonstrates ER’s strong relationship with CBBC and its ongoing commitment to Basil Brush. We have no doubt that Basil will continue to entertain generations of children."
