IMG Media Acquires Sordid Lives

LONDON, October 11: IMG
Media has picked up the distribution rights to the first season of the Sordid
Lives
comedy series.

One of the highlights of
IMG’s new portfolio, Sordid Lives
is the 12-part prequel series to the 2001 movie classic and stage-play of the
same name, and also stars the original all-star cast, including Olivia
Newton-John (Grease), Beth
Grant (Little Miss Sunshine),
Delta Burke (Boston Legal, Popular) and reprising his film role, Leslie Jordan (Boston
Legal
, Will & Grace) will also guest star in several episodes.

Produced by Scout and Once
Upon A Time Productions, the series is available as a 12×22-minute series or as
a 12×30-minute uncensored version. Sordid Lives: The Series is about a dysfunctional southern family and their
motley acquaintances. The series will be delivered in April 2008.

Another show that joins
IMG Media’s catalogue is the Scout-produced teenage DIY program Knock First, which adds a further 50 hours to IMG’s stable of
programming.

Mark Young, IMG Media’s
senior VP of entertainment sales and acquisitions worldwide, commented: “I am
delighted that we shall be representing Sordid Lives. It comes with a stellar cast and guest cameos
from a host of big-name celebrities, as well as hilarious writing by Del
Shores. Given its high profile and cult following from both the movie and the
stage version, it’s no surprise that the series has already been picked up by
MTV Networks in the U.S. with many other broadcasters showing a keen interest
in what promises to be one of 2008’s most eagerly-anticipated offerings.”
