The Mediapro Studio Aligns with Telemundo Studios

The Mediapro Studio US and Canada has aligned with Telemundo Studios to develop original movies for U.S. Hispanic audiences.

The deal follows news of the co-production Atrápelo quien pueda and will see the two companies sharing their expertise to deliver titles that will resonate with U.S. Hispanic audiences and abroad.

“We are thrilled to partner with Telemundo, a trusted leader in Spanish-language media, to create groundbreaking content that resonates deeply with Hispanic audiences in the U.S. and beyond,” said JC Acosta, head of The Mediapro Studio US and Canada. “This collaboration is an exciting step in our mission to produce globally relevant stories with strong local impact.”

“We’re proud to join forces with The Mediapro Studio on a partnership that puts Hispanic stories front and center,” said Javier Pons, chief content officer and head of Telemundo Studios. “Together, we will create content that amplifies and reflects Latino voices, while continuing to set new standards for top-level production in the industry.”

Atrápelo quien pueda, a Spanish-language romantic comedy, has begun principal photography. It stars Jaime Camil, Natalia Téllez, Isabella Arroyo, Ricardo Polanco, Verónica Langer and more. Cinepolis is handling theatrical release and sales in Latin America, while Telemundo Studios is handling the U.S. and The Mediapro Studio has the rest of the world.

“Partnering with Telemundo Studios and Cinepolis on Atrápelo quien pueda represents an exciting step forward in our mission to create premium Spanish-language content with global appeal,” said Acosta. “This is a true collaboration that leverages each partner’s strengths across creative, production, and distribution—an ideal model for the partnerships that we strive to cultivate.”

“We are incredibly proud to join forces with The Mediapro Studio and Cinepolis on this exciting film project,” added Pons. “At Telemundo Studios, we are deeply committed to telling authentic stories that reflect the richness and complexity of Latinos everywhere, and this collaboration will bring a powerful narrative to the screen that will resonate with audiences around the world.”

“At Cinépolis, we believe romantic comedies remain one of the most powerful genres to draw audiences to the cinema in Mexico,” said Miguel Rivera, senior VP of programming and content at Cinépolis. “Atrápelo quien pueda has all the elements to captivate: a charismatic cast, a relatable story, and a tone that invites laughter and emotion. We’re convinced it’s the kind of film that truly shines on the big screen, fueled by the collective energy of a packed theater.”
