Apple Goes Straight to Series with Dickinson

Apple has given a straight-to-series order to Dickinson, starring Hailee Steinfeld (Pitch Perfect 3, True Grit, The Edge of Seventeen) as Emily Dickinson.

Produced by wiip, Anonymous Content and Sugar23, the comedic, half-hour series is written and executive produced by Alena Smith (The Affair, The Newsroom) and directed and executive produced by David Gordon Green (Stronger, Pineapple Express, Vice Principals). Dickinson is a coming-of-age story, exploring the constraints of society, gender and family from the perspective of a budding writer.

The project is executive produced by Michael Sugar (Spotlight) and Ashley Zalta (Maniac) for Sugar23, Alex Goldstone for Anonymous Content and Darlene Hunt (The Big C, I Heart Huckabees).
