Jetpack Distribution has snapped up the exclusive global rights for three seasons of the dystopian sci-fi thriller The Cul de Sac from New Zealand’s Greenstone TV, marking the company’s first foray into live action.

The Cul de Sac follows a girl named Rose, who must protect her siblings from dark forces after the adults in her world mysteriously disappear. The show, which has aired on TVNZ2, is aimed at viewers between the ages of 9 and 16. The cast includes KJ Apa (Riverdale), Beulah Koale (Hawaii Five-0) and Greta Gregory (The Brokenwood Mysteries).

Dominic Gardiner, Jetpack Distribution’s CEO, commented: “We’re really excited about launching this show at MIPCOM—it’s really cool and taps right into the zeitgeist with its dystopian theme and feisty female protagonist. Older kids love to be a little bit scared as they begin to question the world around them and challenge norms. The Cul de Sac offers a great deal of edge-of-seat (or behind the sofa!) excitement.”
