Jetpack Distribution has acquired the international rights (outside of China, New Zealand and MENA) for the CGI animated series Panda and Kiwi.

The series is a co-production between CCTVA and NHNZ Worldwide. The 52×10-minute comedy-adventure show is for children aged 4 to 7.

The story centers on Hehe the Panda and Kiki the Kiwi, along with their friends, who are attempting to avoid capture by the infamous wildlife smuggler Ratty Hat while trapped on a mysterious uncharted island in the South Pacific. They must find a way of getting off the island and away from the smuggler whose shipwreck they escaped from.

Panda and Kiwi has aired on CCTV in China and TVNZ+ in New Zealand.

The show’s production team includes Emmy award-winning writer Ian McGee and Theo Baynton, managing director of Nyuk Nyuk.

Gillian Calvert Ridge, Jetpack’s global distribution director, acquisitions and development, said: “A truly original show, with a great concept. Panda and Kiwi has strong values around teamwork, courage, friendship and comedy, and kids across the world will get behind the heroic antics of Kiki, Hehe and their friends in a stunning and mysterious location!”
