Viddsee, IMDA Partner for Original Content

Viddsee, a global platform for premium short-form videos, is expanding into original content creation, establishing Viddsee Studios in partnership with the IMDA.

Singaporean filmmaker and producer Kenny Tan will head up the initiative, tasked with creating original content from local storytellers. Five series are planned for release in 2018 encompassing public-service values. They’ll be showcased on Viddsee’s platforms.

“In line with our mission of empowering storytellers, this is an exciting evolution as we move from curation to creation, for both our company and community of content creators,” said co-founder and CEO Ho Jia Jian. “With Kenny’s wealth of experience as a digital media producer, we believe there will be greater collaboration and opportunity for content creators to tell more stories.”

“Storytelling today is an art as much as it is a science,” said Dorothy Lai, director of public service media and assessment at IMDA. “IMDA’s partnership with Viddsee enables content creators to combine the art of creative storytelling techniques with audience insights powered by data science. This will empower them to create even more impactful stories that will resonate with audiences. We look forward to a strong lineup of local content for Singapore viewers through this partnership.”
