NEW YORK: A+E Networks has promoted Christopher Barry to the position of senior VP and head of finance and business planning for international and digital.

In his new role, Barry will lead a team responsible for the financial oversight, business planning and strategic support for growth initiatives and investments in the international and digital divisions. This position combines Barry’s operational experience in the international space with his financial expertise. He will report to Art Vomvas, the executive VP of financial and business planning at A+E Networks, and Sean Cohan, the president of international and digital media.

Barry previously served as senior VP of international strategy and digital media for A+E Networks’s international division. During that time, he was responsible for the acquisition and integration of A+E Networks’s businesses in Southeast Asia and Italy, as well as market expansion in key territories, including Canada and France. Barry joined A+E Networks in 2012 from Sundance Channel.

“Christopher is a consummate strategist who has been instrumental in developing and executing the division’s growth plan with Sean Cohan and his team,” said Vomvas. “I look forward to his future contributions as he leads the finance team and partners across both the international and digital divisions to support our continued expansion.”

“Christopher has made significant contributions, especially toward the establishment of A+E Networks’s foothold in the digital marketplace,” added Cohan. “He will continue to play a vital role across our divisions as we forge ahead on our commitment to achieve substantial growth in the global digital arena.”
