WE tv Announces New Series, Renewals

NEW YORK, April 25: WE tv has added the new 6×1-hour
original series Twister Sisters to its
lineup, and has renewed John Edward Cross Country and American Princess for a second season.

Twister Sisters is
scheduled to premiere in December. The series, produced by Original
Productions, follows two female storm chasers named Peggy Willenberg and
Melanie Metz as they head out on the road for their annual pilgrimage across
the Great Plains in search of the biggest tornadoes around.

Following the record-breaking success of the first season of
John Edward Cross Country—which
became the highest rated original series premiere in WE tv’s history—the
second season of the 12×1-hour weekly series will debut this September.
Produced by JECO Productions, the series features world-famous psychic John
Edward who travels across the country to conduct detailed and intimate readings
with those who seek comfort and answers about their departed friends or
relatives. American Princess—which
also ranked as one of the highest original series premiere to-date on the
network—will premiere its second season this August. Produced by Granada,
the 8×1-hour weekly series transports 12 young women with contrasting styles,
tastes and backgrounds to England, where they will compete against one another
for the chance to become the next “American Princess.” The winner will claim
various prizes that include $50,000 cash, an English title, and a dance with a
real European prince.

“WE tv is committed to increasing our original programming
slate with compelling and entertaining television that speaks to our core
audience,” stated Kim Martin, WE tv’s EVP and GM. “Twister Sisters is a unique true-life story that we are excited to
add to our lineup and both John Edward Cross Country and American
Princess
are great series that our audience
loves; bringing them back makes perfect sense for the network. These shows join
WE’s dynamic programming lineup for 2007 and will continue to position WE tv as
a premiere destination for relevant, fun, and engaging television.”
