WarnerTV Lands in Hong Kong

HONG KONG: The 24-hour general-entertainment network WarnerTV has secured carriage on PCCW’s now TV platform in Hong Kong, offering up series like The Closer and a slate of feature films.

Operated by Warner Bros. International Branded Services, the linear channel is distributed in Asia by sister company HBO Asia. The lineup on the channel will include several broadcast premieres for Hong Kong, including The CW’s Nikita, season five of The Closer, season three of The Big Bang Theory and the ABC Family hit Pretty Little Liars. The feature films on the grid include The Lord of the Rings trilogy, the Harry Potter franchise, The Dark Knight, Wedding Crashers, Rush Hour and more.

“Hong Kong is an important market for us in the WarnerTV Asia Pacific rollout strategy as we expand our presence into the region, and we are extremely excited to have now TV in Hong Kong as our strategic partner here," said Malcolm Dudley-Smith, executive VP of business management at Warner Bros. International Branded Services.

WarnerTV is now available in seven Asian markets: Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Taiwan and the Philippines.
