LOS ANGELES: CBS has renewed its hit summer series Zoo for a third season, which will air in 2017.

Currently in its second season, Zoo ranks as this summer’s second most-watched original scripted broadcast. The thriller is based on a best seller by James Patterson.

Additionally, CBS renewed Big Brother, also a summer series, for two more editions. The 19th and 20th cycles of the show will air in summer 2017 and 2018, respectively.

The network also unveiled a new six-hour limited event docuseries, The Case Of: JonBenét Ramsey (previously titled Case Closed). From Emmy Award-winning executive producer Tom Forman (9/11, 48 Hours) and Critical Content, the event series re-examines the tragic unsolved case of the missing 6-year-old beauty queen some 20 years later.
