CBS Appoints EVP of Comedy Development

Network and studio veteran Jon Koa has been tapped by CBS to serve as executive VP of comedy development.

Koa will oversee all comedy development for CBS Entertainment’s prime-time programming. Koa most recently served as senior VP of scripted television for Condé Nast Entertainment, a role he held since 2015. Prior to this, Koa served as executive director of comedy programming and development for ABC.

“Jon is a tremendously experienced television executive with an obvious passion for the development process,” said Kelly Kahl, president of CBS Entertainment. “His reputation among his peers and the creative community is impeccable and he will be an extraordinary addition to the CBS team.”

Thom Sherman, senior executive VP of programming at CBS Entertainment, said, “It was imperative we find just the right individual to lead our comedy team. Jon has tremendous creative chops and a keen eye for spotting writing that resonates. I look forward to working closely with him.”
