NEW YORK: Cheryl Bloch, a Golden Globe- and Emmy-winning producer, has become WE tv's first senior VP of scripted programming, effective immediately.

In her new role, Bloch will work out of Santa Monica under Marc Juris, the president and general manager of WE tv. She will be expected to scout, develop and produce scripted series. She will work with writers, producers and studios on a project, and will contribute to the positioning and promotion of each title.

Bloch most recently was a senior consultant for WE tv, where she helped the channel pinpoint and expand its initial slate of scripted projects for production and development. Before that she served as the senior VP of Jennilind Productions and the VP of drama development at Fox Broadcasting Company.

"It is a pleasure to officially welcome Cheryl to the network," said Juris. "She has been instrumental in leveraging her broad industry relationships and background to build the network's initial scripted development slate and I am looking forward to working together to deliver unique and compelling scripted shows to WE tv viewers."
