TRACE Sport Stars Signs Carriage Deal with DISH Network

LONDON: TRACE Sport Stars, a European network dedicated to sports celebrities, is set to premiere in the U.S. this summer after closing a carriage deal with DISH Network.

The two-year-old channel will debut in DISH’s international basic package for satellite subscribers before launching as part of the sports pack on DISH’s OTT platform DishWorld. The deal also saw a five-year renewal for TRACE Urban, a music channel that premiered on DISH Network in 2005.

“The addition of TRACE Sport Stars to our international lineup further expands the variety of content we offer for young, multicultural viewers,” said Izabela Slowikowska, the director of programming at DISH. “By including TRACE Sport Stars in both our satellite and DishWorld OTT packages, we are able to reach an even more diverse set of subscribers.”

Laurent Dumeau, the CEO of TRACE Sport Stars, commented: “We are delighted to extend TRACE Sport Stars’ footprint for the first time in the U.S. with DISH Network. We believe the U.S. will offer a key viewing audience for the channel and for the development of the TRACE brand. There is no other channel like TRACE Sport Stars in the market and we are confident it will fill a gap and help DISH deliver engaging and exciting, never-seen-before content to their subscribers.”
