TLC Bolsters West Coast Production & Development Teams

SILVER SPRING: TLC has appointed Jack Tarantino and Elvia Van Es Oliva as the network's new VPs of production and development, respectively, for the West Coast.

Both Tarantino and Van Es Oliva will work out of Los Angeles under Sandy Varo Jarrell, TLC's senior VP of production and development for the West Coast. Their duties will include building relationships with external artistic communities, conceptualizing and executing original programming ideas, strengthening current show brands, and managing their teams across all business and creative operations.

Tarantino previously served as the VP of original programming for Style Network, where he contributed to the launch of such original series as Hot Listings Miami, Jerseylicious and Big Rich Texas. Earlier in his career, he produced programs for Bravo, VH1, Food Network, BET and Lifetime, among other channels.

Van Es Oliva used to be the senior VP of development for Fly On the Wall Entertainment, where she created, developed, pitched and sold several titles to Food Network, Sundance, E!, Oxygen, HISTORY and TLC. Before that, she was the VP of programming and development for High Noon Entertainment.

"Jack and Elvia each bring an incredible amount of industry experience and storytelling success that is a perfect complement to TLC and our slate of programming," noted Nancy Daniels, the general manager of TLC. "They join Sandy and her team in working in tandem with our East Coast team as we create more of the heartwarming and eye-opening content our viewers are watching in record numbers."
