Syfy Ups Programming Exec

NEW YORK: Syfy has promoted Chris Regina, who is based in the New York office, to senior VP of programming.

Regina’s responsibilities will include the oversight of acquisitions of studio-distributed theatrical films and series. He will also continue to manage Syfy’s scheduling and administration department, while continuing to work on the development and supervision of many popular Syfy Saturday Original Movies. He reports to Thomas Vitale, the executive VP of programming and original movies. Regina joined Syfy in 1998 as the director of scheduling and administration. He served as the VP of programming at Syfy since March 2006.

Vitale said, "With his creativity and encyclopedic knowledge of the industry, Chris has been one of the driving forces in the tremendous success of Syfy over the past 14 years. We’re delighted to reward his many contributions through this well-earned deserved promotion.”
