The first season of the Australian comedy series Rosehaven is slated to begin airing in the U.S. on SundanceTV, which has signed on to co-produce the second installment with ABC, Screen Tasmania and Screen Australia.

Rosehaven tells the story of two close friends and their big plans. The eight-episode first season debuted on ABC in Australia last year. The second installment will begin filming next month in Tasmania. The show, which stars creators Luke McGregor (Luke Warm Sex) and Celia Pacquola (Utopia), is set to premiere on SundanceTV later this year. It will become available on SundanceNow in the U.S. and Canada after its linear run.

Rosehaven is a delightfully quirky comedy that we are excited to share with SundanceTV’s growing and passionate audience,” said Jan Diedrichsen, the general manager of SundanceTV and SundanceNow. “When we found this gem, it was clear that the offbeat, cheeky comedy fit perfectly within the network’s lineup of the best shows from around the world that showcase original voices.”

Kevin Whyte, executive producer, added: “We are rapt to be heading back down to Tasmania to find out what is next for Daniel and Emma and introduce them to the world with our new partners at SundanceTV and our old friends at the ABC.”
