LOS ANGELES: Style Media has signed writers Graydon Sheppard and Kyle Humphrey, behind the Internet sensation Sh*t Girls Say, to a development deal to create an alternative comedy based on the hit web series.

Sh*t Girls Say amassed nearly 36 million views for the four online episodes and thousands of parody videos. It started out as a Twitter account to humorously portray the way women talk to themselves, their friends and partners. A book based on the concept was released last October.

For Style, the series will take the character and explore the worlds of fashion, beauty and lifestyle through her comedic, yet universal, point of view.

“We are excited to team up with Graydon and Kyle to further develop their iconic character for our Style viewers,” said Sarah Weidman, the senior VP of original programming and development at Style. “Even as she finds herself in outrageous comedic situations, ‘The Girl’ represents our core audience—a passionista who loves fashion and entertaining.”

“When we created the twitter account, we never imagined that we would parlay this into a television show,” commented Sheppard and Humphrey. “Style is the perfect partner to bring our ‘Girl’ to life in fun, creative sketches and real-life situations.”
