SILVER SPRING: Discovery Channel is working with Scott Free Productions on another scripted mini-series, this one based on the lives of Scottish patriots William Wallace and Robert the Bruce.

The as-yet untitled William Wallace and Robert the Bruce mini-series is based on historical books by Nigel Tranter, including The Wallace and The Bruce trilogy. It will document the Scottish unrest and turbulent times of 1296, after King Edward I of England invaded Scotland and imposed English rule.

The project is a co-production between Discovery and Scott Free, with Ridley Scott and David Zucker serving as executive producers for Scott Free Productions.

Discovery and Scott Free previously worked together on the scripted mini-series Klondike, set during the Gold Rush.
