MONTREAL: Stingray Digital Group has appointed Rick Bergan as the company’s new head of content distribution for the United States, effective August 15.

Based on the East Coast, Bergan will oversee sales development and forge strategic relationships with sales agents and television operators in the U.S. He will collaborate with Brian Decker, Stingray’s senior VP of U.S. sales, who works out of Los Angeles. Both Bergan and Decker will support the company’s expansion into the U.S. market and drive its content offering on television, internet and mobile platforms.

Bergan has more than two decades of experience in the cable TV, digital media and music industries. He most recently served as executive VP of business development and sales at OneTwoSee, a Philadelphia-based startup that was recently acquired by Comcast. Earlier in his career, he was senior VP of distribution at Music Choice.

“We are thrilled to welcome Rick as part of Stingray’s growing management team,” said Eric Boyko, co-founder, president and CEO of Stingray. “He is a team player with extensive expertise in music distribution, marketing and business development. His ability to constantly innovate, his energetic leadership style, and his faultless reputation are strong foundations on which we can continue to grow and build our business in the U.S. market.”

“I could not be happier to join Stingray in this newly created position,” added Bergan. “It is my hope that my years of experience and through the important relationships I have built over the years, I can significantly contribute to Stingray’s expansion and continued success with new and existing clients.”
