NEW YORK: Viacom vet Matt Califano has been named Spike TV’s new VP of program scheduling.

In his new role, Califano will plan and execute the network’s program scheduling and acquisitions strategy. He’ll also oversee the day-to-day operations supporting distribution models such as HD, VOD, DTO and 3D, as well as implementing new systems. The exec will continue to report to Tom Zappala, Spike TV’s executive VP of programming and scheduling.

Califano has been with Viacom for ten years, starting at Nick at Nite and joining Spike TV in 2007. He most recently served at the network’s senior director of program scheduling.
